Liverpool won out at Burnley today as they overcame the tough conditions to take away the three points thanks to a solitary goal from Fabinho.

The Brazilian midfielder scored once again to continue his fine run of form of late and the scrambled effort to see off the Clarets was a goal befitting of a scrappy affair at Turf Moor.

Jurgen Klopp was, of course, delighted with the win. There were a number of excellent performances in the Liverpool ranks, with the defence doing well and Sadio Mane returning from the AFCON to good effect. However, it was hard to look past the display in midfield from Naby Keita.

The Guinea star has often flattered to deceive since arriving in England. But this season, he seems to be finding his way a bit and looks every bit the £45m+ player Liverpool thought they were buying. Certainly, against Burnley today, he was exceptional in all departments.

Naby Keita Stats Against Burnley

A midfielders job, historically, has been to do a bit of everything. As we know, in the modern game, there are more niche jobs for the midfield now, with anchors, attacking playmakers, and box to box types all part of the game.

Today, though, Keita was a bit of a throwback to days gone by in terms of midfield performances. Per stats provided from Squawka, the Liverpool star really did deliver a bit of everything.

Keita had an impressive 90% passing accuracy and completed a game high 12 final third passes. Alongside that, he also mucked in on the defensive side of things. Five tackles, four ball recoveries, and six duels won showed he has a bit of fight in him for these sorts of games.

Couple those things with the fact he was constantly available and asking for the ball, and it seems like Liverpool have finally got the Naby Keita they want.
