£5m-rated Bowen could get Newcastle flying up the league table
Jarrod Bowen has been on fire this season and it is no surprise to see Premier League clubs queuing up to sign him.
According to The Sun, Fulham and Cardiff City are lining up £5m January swoops for the lively young winger.
The 22-year-old has scored eight goals and picked up three assists in 23 Championship matches this season – almost single-handedly keeping Hull City away from the drop zone.
Hull are 16th in the league – eight points clear of the relegation zone – and that is mainly thanks to Bowen’s efforts.
The former Hereford United player scored 14 goals and registered one assist last season and his stock continues to rise as he replicates his fine form.
Newcastle United need some attacking inspiration and the goal scoring winger would be an ideal signing.
For £5m, Bowen is a bargain in the current market and he could get the goal-shy Magpies firing.
Having proven that he is not a one-season wonder, Bowen now needs to test himself in the Premier League.
Newcastle would be the perfect environment for him; playing in front of big crowds and with first-team opportunities looking clear-cut.
And for the Magpies, Bowen could be a cheap target in attacking midfield and a shrewd long-term acquisition.
Bowen could get Newcastle flying up the Premier League table in the short-term, if he can step up to Premier League standard, and become a real star at St James’ Park in the long-term.
