£54m player isn’t likely to play for Tottenham again, decision made at board level

Tanguy Ndombele has been in the last chance saloon at Tottenham for what feels like half a decade now.

The Frenchman has failed and faltered under numerous managers at Spurs now, and it looks as though time is finally up for the £54m man in north London.

Indeed, speaking to GiveMeSport, Paul Brown has delivered a definitive update on Ndombele’s situation, and it sounds as though the final nail has now been placed in his Tottenham coffin.

According to Brown, a decision has been made at boardroom level that Ndombele is free to go whenever he pleases, and it’s now very unlikely that the midfielder will ever play for the club again.

Ndombele has played his final game for Tottenham

Brown shared what he knows about Ndombele.

“Never say never and Ange Postecoglou is not the kind of manager who likes to freeze people out, but Tanguy Ndombele has had so many chances under so many managers and never been able to produce what he’s capable of, that I think Spurs are only too willing to wash their hands of him, really. I think a decision has been made at the board level that he’s free to leave and they will take as much as they can get for him, frankly. So I think it’s unlikely on that basis that he ever plays for Tottenham again,” Brown said.

What a waste

Even after all this time, it’s really sad to hear this.

Ndombele remains one of the most expensive players in Tottenham’s history, and he’s one of the most talented.

Sadly, the old adage rings true, hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard, and the reality is that Ndombele hasn’t applied himself in the way he should have since arriving in north London.

Ndombele’s story is a cautionary tale for any player who has the talent but isn’t willing to work hard enough to really stamp their name at the top level.
