Tottenham Hotspur’s players set off on their travels to Madrid on Wednesday as they finalise their preparations for Saturday evening’s Champions League final – and Erik Lamela posted a picture from the club’s plane.
Lamela posted a picture alongside goalkeepers Hugo Lloris and Paulo Gazzaniga, as the squad prepare for perhaps the biggest game in the north London club’s history against Liverpool at Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano.
But the Argentine winger received a somewhat surprising message from Real Betis playmaker Giovani Lo Celso. It comes as unlikely that Lo Celso would comment, given that Spurs have reportedly made an offer for him.
The attacking midfielder has scored 16 goals and created six more this season, and BBC Sport have reported that Spurs have tabled an offer of £53million for Le Celso. He posted on Lamela’s Instagram, saying “nice one”.

If the report is to be believed, Lo Celso would become Tottenham’s most expensive ever signing. The current record stands at around £42million, for the purchase of Davinson Sanchez from Ajax in the summer of 2017.
Tottenham fans reacted to Lo Celso commenting on Lamela’s Instagram post, and are desperate to see the versatile attacker sign after an immaculate campaign in the top tier of Spanish football.
