Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Ben Godfrey has spoken out on “the toughest two months of his career” as he prepares to come up on Jose Mourinho’s Spurs in the FA Cup this week.
The Norwich City defender is believed to be on the radar of Tottenham, as well as North London rivals Arsenal, with a view to a summer move, as previously reported by the Daily Express.
Godfrey was a key member of the side which achieved promotion to the Premier League as Championship victors last season, and has made 20 top-flight appearances this term.
However, the 20-year-old missed numerous games during the festive period with a knee injury, and was then sent off in his comeback game against Bournemouth.

Godfrey has since completed the full 90 minutes against Wolves and Leicester and is now set to feature against one of his reported suitors on their own patch on Wednesday night.
“I’ve never missed that long out through injury. It was tough to deal with and I was gutted about that,” Godfrey told the Norwich website.
“Mentally I was on the up because I was coming back but when I came back, I got sent off. You feel like you’re on a downer again.
“It’s an experience I’ve learned from, it’s made me stronger and playing two 90 minutes back-to-back recently after that spell out, I feel really good physically.
“I worked really hard at the training ground to make sure I wasn’t not up to speed and I could slot straight back in if I was picked.”
TBR View:
It’s been a bittersweet season so far for Godfrey, who has shown he has what it takes at Premier League level but could find himself relegated back to the second tier.
In addition, the injury he suffered, followed by the red card in his comeback game, will have been tough to handle, but credit to him, he seems to have put it behind him and is now back to his best, testament to his great attitude and mentality.
If Godfrey, who is reportedly valued at £50million by Norwich, puts in a great display in front of the Tottenham fans, there will likely be increased calls from those supporters for the club to sign him this summer.
