£50,000-a-week Arsenal man should be concerned by 21-year-old’s form

Arsenal youngster Krystian Bielik caught the eye once again as Poland U21s defeated hosts Italy 1-0 at the European Championships.

The 21-year-old scored the game’s only goal at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, and was superb as part of a back three.

According to Scouted Football, Bielik had 57 touches, made 3/5 tackles, made 2 interceptions and made 1 block in a busy performance.

His showing will only increase the pressure on Gunners boss Unai Emery to hand him a chance in the first-team next season.

Having starred against Belgium as well, one man who definitely should be concerned about Bielik’s current form is Calum Chambers.


TBR’s view

Chambers is now back at Arsenal following a loan spell at Fulham in 2018/19.

If he had hopes of regular first-team football at Emirates next year, then he could now have a battle on his hands.

Bielik, who impressed on loan with promotion-winning Charlton Athletic last term, is a centre-half who can also play at holding midfield, just like Chambers.

The £50,000-a-week ace (Spotrac) struggled to really stand out in a poor Fulham side and arguably Bielik deserves his chance.

Him getting the nod would surely limit Chambers’ first-team opportunities, with Rob Holding soon to return from injury.
