5 shots, 4 dribbles, 2 through-balls - one Leeds player had a field day against Watford
Leeds United have finally got their first win of the Premier League season on board.
After three draws and three defeats in the league, the Whites are up and running thanks to Saturday’s 1-0 win over Watford.
Leeds were dominant against the Hornets, but were made to sweat due to their lacklustre finishing.
Marcelo Bielsa’s charges weighed in with 20 efforts, but just four of those were on target.
There was a tense moment when Watford got the ball in the back of the net.
Illan Meslier dropped the ball and it deflected in off Christian Kabasele.
However, it was ruled out due to a foul in the build-up.
In the end, Diego Llorente’s goal in the 18th minute proved the difference between the two sides.
And once again, Raphinha dazzled the Elland Road crowd with another exhilarating display.
He took on opposition players with little effort and constantly trying to find Rodrigo with long-range passes.
A look at his stats from the game shows just how much of a field day he had against Watford.
As per Whoscored, he had five shots, made one key pass, completed four dribbles, attempted nine crosses, launched four accurate through balls, and
Leeds cult hero Jermaine Beckford, speaking on BBC Final Score, was impressed with the Brazilian’s latest heroics.
“Raphinha has been excellent,” Beckford said (16:08). “Every time he picks the ball up he looks like a livewire.”
The 23-year-old really is a diamond of a player and it’s great to see him plying his trade for the Elland Road outfit.
