Daniel Candeias tips Morelos to leave Rangers
Daniel Candeias has tipped Rangers ace, Alfredo Morelos, to leave the club.
Candeias has claimed that a move to Porto would be perfect for the centre-forward
The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to the Liga NOS giants in recent weeks. It was claimed that the outfit sees Morelos as the perfect replacement for Moussa Marega.
Morelos first joined the Glasgow giants back in July 2017 from HJK Helsinki. He’s enjoyed a fantastic career at Ibrox, appearing more than 180 times for the club, scoring 92 goals.
The South American helped the club secure their first Scottish Premiership title in 10 years.
When talking about Morelos, Candeias said: “He loves Rangers and it’s a fantastic club, but after four years I think he’s done his job. He will always be an idol.”
I think he wants to prove to himself he can now compete and shine at another club. Porto is ideal for him as there are so many attractions.”
“They have direct access to the Champions League and there are the other Colombians in the squad. I think it will also help him play for the national team. I see a change in motivation. I’ve been getting involved with him, telling him that I’m waiting to see him at Porto.”
TBR View: Time for Rangers to cut loose from Morelos amid comments from Candeias
Candeias’ comments seem to suggest that the end is near for the Ibrox legend
The time has come for Rangers to cut themselves loose from Morelos amid the comments from Candeias.
He’s been a phenomenal addition to the Gers as he’s helped end the long wait for a league trophy.
However, it’s becoming clearer and clearer that Morelos wants to depart this summer. Retaining a player who wants to leave would be a poor move..
Nevertheless, he’d be a big miss for Rangers due to his threat in the attacking third. As well as scoring 17 goals, Morelos registered 13 assists last season.
His all-around play will be hard to replace for Steven Gerrard, who is losing a talismanic figure.
