'Immense signing', 'Get him in': Some Tottenham fans react to links with 'great Kane back-up'
Some Tottenham Hotspur fans were reacting after transfer links with Wolfsberg striker Wout Weghorst.
According to The Athletic, Spurs have made preliminary advances for the centre-forward. However, Premier League rivals Newcastle and West Ham United also want to sign the ace.
It is thought the Bundesliga outfit will demand €30m (£25.8m) for the Netherlands international.
Weghorst enjoyed a brilliant campaign in the German top-flight last season, scoring 20 times. His goals helped Wolfsberg qualify for the Champions League.
Meanwhile, the Lilywhites could lose Harry Kane, who is Manchester City’s top target. The England international has expressed his desire to leave the north London outfit this summer.
TBR View: Transfer of Weghorst would replace Kane’s goals for Tottenham
The biggest loss of Kane goes without saying, his goals.
Over the course of his time with the Spurs, the Englishman has been a reliable source of goals. Whilst he may be a creator, his goals will be the biggest loss to the north London outfit.
In that regard, the transfer of Weghorst would be a suitable replacement for Tottenham. The 28-year-old has scored more than 18 goals in each of his last five seasons.
His potency in front of goal is frightening and would make him a very good replacement for Kane.
