Gabriel Jesus barely trained last week due to a knee injury before putting in an exceptional display for Arsenal on Tuesday night.
That’s according to The Evening Standard, which claims the Brazil star had been struggling with his fitness ahead of last night’s game.
The Gunners picked up a 2-1 win at Nottingham Forest last night and Gabriel Jesus starred for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Jesus netted Arsenal’s first goal of the game as he beat Matt Turner from what appeared to be a near-impossible angle to score from.

The 26-year-old then set up Bukayo Saka for their second of the night, which ultimately handed Arsenal a vital three points.
Despite putting in an exceptional display, it would appear that the past week hasn’t exactly been plain sailing for Jesus.
Jesus barely trained ahead of Forest vs Arsenal game
The Standard reports that Jesus barely trained last week due to a knee injury.
There is hope that the former Man City star will be back to full fitness for the huge clash at Liverpool on Sunday.
Arteta admitted after last night’s game that Jesus has been ‘struggling’ with an injury and that the £45 million striker was desperate to play to help the team.

The Brazilian has faced plenty of criticism this season due to a lack of goals in the Premier League.
But you can’t question Jesus’ commitment to this current Arsenal side. Despite his lack of goals in the league, the Gunners are a better side when he’s at his best.
Arteta will be hopeful that Jesus gets through this knee injury without any further setbacks as he will be crucial to Arsenal’s title hopes.
The Gunners are unlikely to dip into the market before tomorrow’s deadline so it will come down to Jesus to lead the line during the business end of the season.
