Some Crystal Palace fans have picked out Christian Benteke’s last-minute goal against Brighton and Hove Albion as their goal of the season contender.
The club’s account put out a tweet asking the supporters to vote for their contender with many picking out the 94th-minute strike.
It proved to be a memorable clash for the Eagles after they came from behind to secure what was a last-kick-of-the-game winner against their most bitter rivals. It was made even more sweeter due to the fact the Seagulls dominated proceedings, having a stunning 25 shots on goal compared to Palace’s meager three.
Other contenders for the award, touted by the Selhurst Park faithful, were Eberechi Eze’s stunning solo strike against Sheffield United last January. The England under-21 international embarked on a brilliant solo run before slotting the ball home.
