Jean-Clair Todibo is keen on a move to Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.

That is according to TEAMtalk, which has noted just why Todibo wants to make the switch to Tottenham.

So, what has been reported about Tottenham Hotspur and Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo? Let’s take a look.

Jean-Clair Todibo wants to join Tottenham Hotspur

Well, according to TEAMtalk, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice in the January transfer window.

The report has claimed that Tottenham want to get a deal for Todibo done early and will move on to other defensive targets if they do not get any encouragement.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing the 23-year-old former Barcelona central defender in the middle of the season. Newcastle United have also been linked.

TEAMtalk has added that Todibo himself “is keen on the move” to Tottenham because of the increase in wages and “uplift in status” that comes with a transfer to a Premier League.

The report has noted that the France international centre-back “also believed to be keen on the fact Ange Postecoglou has such an obvious way of trying to achieve success and sources say the understanding of a team ethic and a club vision is going to be key to him choosing his next club”.

TEAMtalk has added that Spurs could bid £40 million for Todibo, who has been described as a defender who is “the complete package”, but the North London club want to get a deal done early and not let negotiations drag on.

Nice may not sell Jean-Clair Todibo to Tottenham Hotspur in January

I will be surprised if Nice sold Jean-Clair Todibo to Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.

I do not think that Spurs will be able to get a deal done for the defender in the middle of the season. I believe that Tottenham will have to wait until the end of the season to bring him to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Of course, every player has their price, and £40 million is a lot of money for Nice. However, they are aiming to win the Ligue 1 title this season and Todibo is a big player for them.

The 23-year-old has made 14 appearances in Ligue 1 for Nice this season. The defender has given one assist in those matches.

Nice are only five points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain in second place in the Ligue 1 table right now. I do not think that Les Aiglons are going to damage their chances of winning the title by selling Todibo for £40 million in January.
