West Ham United loanee Craig Dawson has been nothing short of a sensation for David Moyes’ side this season.

The 30-year-old defender linked up with the Hammers on a season-long loan from Watford in October, with an option to buy.

Although Dawson didn’t feature in a senior West Ham game until their last Premier League fixture of 2020, he’s been one of the first names on David Moyes’ team sheet ever since.

To date, the £40,000-a-week star has made 14 competitive appearances for the East Londoners, putting in plenty of superb defensive displays and also scoring four goals.

Dawson’s latest goal came in Monday night’s 2-0 Premier League win over Leeds to make sure of all three points, as well as keeping Marcelo Bielsa’s swashbuckling side at bay.

“We’re not there yet with a permanent deal but his performances and his attitude and determination are worthy of that anyway,” David Moyes told reporters after the game.

“We brought him in and it took him a while to get starts but now he’s come in, his experience has been really important to us and he has been adding goals as well.”

The Times, meanwhile, have claimed that West Ham are expected to trigger the permanent clause in Dawson’s loan-to-buy move.

The figure is believed to be a mere £2million, which if true, would constitute one of the biggest bargains in recent Premier League history.

Here is what some Watford fans have made of their loanee’s continued great displays and speculation over his future:
