Tottenham Hotspur fans are pleased for Kyle Walker-Peters excellent Southampton form
Southampton are top of the Premier League after a comfortable 2-0 win over Newcastle United at St Mary’s.
Goals from Che Adams and Stuart Armstrong secured the win for the Saints, which has, remarkably, taken Ralph Hasenhuttl’s team top of the league.
One of the key players for Southampton so far this season has been Kyle Walker-Peters, who joined the club from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.
Although not a part of the deal that saw Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg head to Spurs, the two did seem to happen side-by-side, with the England under-21 defender joining the Saints for a reported (The Sun) £12 million this summer.

That followed a loan spell at St Mary’s and plenty of Tottenham fans were sad to see Walker-Peters go.
The versatile defender has plenty of promise but never quite managed to find form when he was given a chance in the Tottenham first-team.
Now, plenty of Tottenham fans are wondering if the club should have stuck by Walker-Peters.
The 23-year-old was exceptional against Newcastle, dangerous going forward, solid defensively, and even occasionally coming inside to provide a passing option in a style reminiscent of the great Phillip Lahm.
Whilst Tottenham are happy with Hojbjerg and have Serge Aurier and new signing Matt Doherty battling for the right-back position, some can’t help but wonder if KWP deserved a better crack of the whip at Spurs.
Always rated KWP happy to see him balling for you lot

Hojbjerg has been our signing of the season so far but it’s a [email protected]’s didn’t work for KWP with us, he’s become a fantastic right back for Southampton https://t.co/Fx7mCgnIww

Replaced a homegrown, Spurs-supporting, Premier League right-back with a Championship-level Arsenal fan. A textbook bit of Spurs squad building. https://t.co/RlL6NYI3y1

On seeing Doherty in a Spurs shirt so far and how KWP has played for Saints. Who would you prefer at Spurs right now?

The Walker-Peters – Højbjerg worked very well for both players and clubs
But I wish we could’ve kept KWP and also buy Højbjerg

Top of the Prem,
Where would Spurs have been if we’d have kept KWP and not bought Hojbjerg?
