4 tackles, 6 clearances, 1 key pass - £25m Everton ace was a colossus at Manchester United

Everton continue to impress in the Premier League as they left Manchester United with a point in a 1-1 draw.

Rafa Benitez was initially a controversial appointment at Goodison Park, but he’s surely silenced his critics over the past few weeks.

Everton have picked up 14 points from their opening seven league games of the season and sit in the upper echelons of the table.

Everton were unlucky to fall behind just before half time as Anthony Martial claimed his first goal since February.

The Blues had threatened prior to the hosts’ breakthrough, with Salomon Rondon, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Demarai Gray coming close.

Everton managed to equalise in the 65th minute, Andros Townsend scoring with a composed finish past David de Gea.

Later on, the Toffes had the ball in the back of the net once again.

However, VAR deemed Yerry Mina’s goal offside, so it finished all square.

Ben Godfrey was one of Everton’s standout players on the day with a masterclass at the back.

As per EFC Statto, he finished the game having made six clearances, four recoveries, four successful tackles, and won three aerial duels.

In addition, Godfrey made one key pass, 18 successful passes and 11 forward passes.

The 23-year-old has been superb since joining Everton in a £25million deal last October.

Everton are on the up under Benitez and Godfrey is bound to play a key role in what will hopefully be a fruitful season.
