£35m Premier League man says Rangers ace is one of the best footballers he’s played with

Glasgow Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has been praised by Everton forward Alex Iwobi, who named the Ibrox man in his list of the best footballers he’s played with.

Kamara joined Steven Gerrard’s Rangers for a mere £50,000 in January 2018 and he has since established himself as an important player for the Ibrox club.

To date, the Light Blues midfielder has made 55 appearances for the Ibrox side, including 39 this season alone.

Iwobi played alongside Kamara in the Arsenal academy and the Toffees man remains very fond of his former teammate’s skills and abilities.

The Nigeria international, a £35million signing by Everton last summer, has played alongside some high-profile figures in his career, such as Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, Alexis Sanchez and Richarlison.

Nonetheless, he named the Rangers man in his top five in an Instagram Live conversation with Don Dada, as quoted by All Nigeria Soccer.

“I always say this one, Glen Kamara, the most underrated footballer,” said Iwobi, who named the Rangers man at number two. “I remember back in the day me and him in midfield for our youth team.”

Kamara has had a bright season with Rangers and was linked with several clubs south of the border in January, including Aston Villa, Norwich City, Southampton and former club Arsenal (Daily Mail).

His exploits for Finland also helped the nation make their first ever major tournament as they qualified for the Euros (now set to be played in 2021).

While Rangers’ domestic season hasn’t gone to plan at the turn of the year, Kamara looks set to continue being a crucial player for Gerrard and co when football resumes – that is, if they can keep the reported suitors at bay.
