Arsenal’s search for a new striker is still ongoing.

The Gunners have been linked with a whole host of new centre-forwards over the past 12 months, and one player they have been consistently linked with is Joshua Zirkzee.

The Bologna striker is coming off the back of a fantastic season in Serie A, and he’s the subject of interest from a number of clubs across Europe, including Arsenal.

Giovanni Sartori is the current Technical Director of Bologna, and if Zirkzee is to leave, Sartori will have to give the go-ahead.

Speaking on stage at an event, as transcribed by TuttoMercatoWeb, Sartori has been discussing Zirkzee’s future at Bologna, and he says that he’s fairly certain that he will have to sell the striker this summer due to his release clause.

Joshua Zirkzee likely to leave

Sartoti spoke about the £34m man, claiming that he is 99.9% likely to go.

“As for Zirkzee there is a clause and I think he will leave 99.9%. We took Calafiori 12 months ago, we would like to keep him, let’s see how the market evolves,” Sartori said.

Zirkzee a bargain

At just £40m, Zirkzee could be one of the bargains of the summer.

The striker has shown over the past 12 months that he can be lethal in a top league, and any club would be lucky to get a striker of his skillset and age profile for such a price.

Of course, whether or not Arsenal are the team that go for Zirkzee remains to be seen.

The likes of AC Milan and Manchester United are also said to be keen on the attacker, and that could prove to be a spanner in the works for Arsenal if they are to look to sign the Bologna forward this summer.

Zirkzee will be on the move this summer, and a move to north London could potentially be on the cards.
