Tottenham Hotspur loanee Sergio Reguilon has made his injury comeback and played his first game for Atletico Madrid.
Reguilon was frozen out in pre-season and loaned to the Spanish giants but has seen his season on ice because of his recovery.
But he made his debut for Diego Simeone’s side on Wednesday night, in the nick of time before the season breaks for the World Cup.
Unfortunately, they lost 1-0 to Real Mallorca, in a game where the left-back came on as a substitute.

Reguilon makes comeback
After the game, he posted a message on Instagram, which translated to: “I feel like footballer again after 7 months.
“Gutted by the defeat and the team situation, but excited about my Atletico Madrid debut and looking forward to helping the team out.”
He had plenty of supportive messages in the replies, including from Tottenham team-mates Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Bryan Gil.

Gil especially knows about the frustration of being out of the team. He has struggled to establish himself at Spurs and spent time on loan last season.
£32 million man Reguilon will be hoping to use his time back in Spain to get his career back on track after losing his way at Spurs.
It seems some of his teammates will be watching with interest, and maybe he can use the World Cup break to get even fitter.
