£325k-a-week wizard deciding whether to move to Newcastle right now - journalist
Newcastle United have been heavily linked with Aaron Ramsey in recent weeks.
The Magpies are in need of bolstering their ranks as they seek to secure Premier League safety.
Newcastle’s long-awaited takeover means they have plenty of money to spend in the January transfer window.
And Ramsey would be a high-quality – and realistic – acquisition for the Magpies this month.
The 31-year-old has made just five appearances in all competitions for Juventus this season.
And Massimiliano Allegri has admitted that Ramsey is likely to leave this month.
“Ramsey, he returned today after we had given him a few days off to work, to train separately, in England,” Sky Sports quotes him as saying.
“In any case, he’s an outgoing player.”
Ramsey joined the Italian giants on a free transfer from Arsenal in July 2019, penning a four-year deal reportedly worth £325,000-a-week.
He has made 70 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring six goals.
Ramsey has also won 71 caps for Wales, scoring 20 goals.
Given Juve are eager to move him on, Newcastle stand a good chance of landing him this month.
GiveMeSport transfer insider Dean Jones has confirmed the Tyneside club’s apparent interest at this current moment.
“He’s just making sure that is really suits him,” wrote Jones.
“Because there are other clubs being sounded out as well for interest.
“But Newcastle are definitely in for Ramsey at this stage.”
