A player linked with a Tottenham Hotspur move this summer continued to dazzle for his country in the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers last night.
Both Ange Postecoglou and Daniel Levy know it’s a crucial summer ahead.

The club are thought to be in a strong financial position and they should be back involved in Champions League football next year one way or another.
And this summer really will represent Postecoglou’s first proper chance to craft the squad in his direction, adding and removing players in line with his vision on the pitch.
Yes, Tottenham have made progress last summer and in January, but this will be the club’s real chance to map out their new era, ready to compete for trophies.
That being said, Genoa’s Icelandic forward Albert Gudmundsson is continuing to provide reason to believe a £30m move would present good value.
The Spurs linked 26-year-old has continued his excellent club form into this international break, scoring four goals in Iceland’s two qualifiers, even if last night did ultimately lead to defeat against Ukraine.
Albert Gudmundsson demonstrates why he’d be an excellent move for Tottenham this summer
Gudmundsson starred for his country over the break and scored a ‘magic’ goal which was shared as one of two of his strikes in UEFA’s top four goals of the qualifiers.
And following his display, Icelandic media did provide their interpretation of his performance.

Firstly, Visir pointed out how crucial Gudmundsson or ‘Albert’ as he is known in his home country, has become for the national team.
They wrote: “Showed once again how important he is to the Icelandic team. Scored a real goal in the 30th minute with a great shot, which unfortunately was not enough.”
And whilst Fotbolti.net described Gudmundsson’s goal as ‘magic’ they did think he was fairly frustrated otherwise
They described: “There was magic in Wroclaw after just under half an hour when Albert played with the ball just outside Ukraine’s penalty area and then waded with his left foot, unguarded by Lunin.
“Wasn’t very noticeable in the game all over, the Ukrainians had a good look at him.”
And whilst Gudmundsson may have been slightly thwarted after his stunning goal, he still proved why he would represent an excellent move for Tottenham this summer.
The Icelander’s fluid style looks perfectly suited to Ange Postecoglou’s front four, even if he would most enjoy playing in the same role as James Maddison.
All that being said, it seems Tottenham have just opened talks with a different young forward.
