Newcastle United reportedly tried to sign Giacomo Raspadori during the summer transfer window but he joined Napoli instead.
There was interest from West Ham, who could offer European football, too, but he opted to move into the Champions League.
Some English fans may recognise Raspadori as the man who netted the only goal of the game when Italy beat the Three Lions 1-0 last month.
And he caught the eye once again last night, netting two goals as Napoli ripped Ajax apart on their own patch, winning 6-1 in Amsterdam.

He also got an assist to his name and all that came in little more than an hour before he was taken off and rested for further tests to come.
As per WhoScored, he did all that from just 35 touches, which meant this was a lesson in being clinical and effective in attack.
Of course, Newcastle ended up getting Alexander Isak and he looks like he could well be a huge signing for the future on Tyneside.
Raspadori elected to stay in Italy, and moved for a reported fee which could rise to 35 million euros (£30.4 million), as per Football Italia.
But he did show Newcastle what they were missing out on, doing the business on the highest stage of all and grabbing the headlines.
Napoli have already thumped Liverpool 4-1 in this season’s Champions League and they are showing they are a force to be reckoned with on the European stage.
