Everton’s Jordan Pickford was asked who the best goalkeepers at the World Cup are but failed to mention Liverpool’s Alisson.
Pickford spoke at a press conference ahead of England’s second group stage game, against the United States tomorrow night.
He was asked who the best three stoppers on the world stage are, but mentioned only two, snubbing the Liverpool glovesman.

Pickford snubs Alisson
When the question was put to Pickford, he said: “There’s a lot of depth.
“(Thibaut) Courtois, Belgium, the season he had last season for Real Madrid was unbelievable.
“(Manuel) Neuer, for a number of years, last ten to 12 years, been incredible. There’s loads. There’s good competition.”
£30 million man Pickford has never let England down and this is his third major tournament between the sticks for the Three Lions.
He let in two goals against Iran on Monday, but made an outstanding save from a one against one, and there was little he could have done about either goal.
Gareth Southgate has spoken about the need for England to tighten up defensively in light of that, and Pickford said elsewhere in the press conference that he is determined to keep a clean sheet next time around.
Alisson has reportedly won the battle with Manchester City’s Ederson to be Brazil’s number one and they kick off their campaign against Serbia tonight.
They go into the tournament among the favourites, especially in light of shock 2-1 defeats for Germany and Argentina in the first round of matches.
