Up: Benik Afobe
A lot of eyebrows were raised when Bournemouth elected to spend £10 million on unproven striker Benik Afobe from Wolves, but it is a deal that is starting to pay off handsomely.
Since arriving at the Vitality Stadium, Afobe has netted four goals in seven games, and a header against Southampton sealed the points that moved the Cherries a full eight points clear of the trouble of the relegation zone.
With his instinctive finishes from inside the box, Afobe is leading injury-hit Bournemouth to safety. Everything points to him being a great signing by Eddie Howe.
