Ex-Nottingham Forest winger Michail Antonio has proved to be an excellent signing by West Ham. He is quick, strong, skilful and has chipped in with a number of goals and assists in his debut Premier League campaign.

However, despite some excellent displays on both the right wing and at right back, Antonio’s defensive frailties were on full display for all at the Boelyn Ground in Swansea’s 4-1 win. Often out of position and slow to get back, all three of Swansea’s first half goals exploited the space left by Antonio, who looked keen to attack at all times.

His touches at the other end showed his assets to West Ham, but as a winger only. He has acquitted himself well, but it is time to stop playing Antonio at right back.
