Down: Manchester City
Manchester City have been coasting towards the end of the season ever since Manuel Pellegrini announced his exit back in January, and that complacency looks like it may cost them their place in the Champions League when Pep Guardiola arrives in the summer.
Their 2-2 draw at home to Arsenal, where City twice surrendered the lead, has left them just two points clear of bitter rivals Manchester United, who have a crucial game in hand. Without Kompany, their squad has been spineless and have cruised their way into choppy waters.
As for Pep, he may have to acquaint himself with the alien concept of Thursday night football. City v Vorskla Poltava anyone? It’s a real possibility.
