2015/16 will go down as a season where success was gleaned from unheralded managerial appointments, Claudio Raneiri and Slaven Bilic in particular, and the same could be said of Francesco Guidolin, who received little fanfare when he arrived to replace Garry Monk at Swansea.

However, the Italian has never let any negativity about his appointment affect him, and has guided Swansea away from a perilous run of form into comfortable mid-table obscurity. Should they beat Manchester City on the final day of the season, Guidolin may just take the Swans into the top half of the table after masterminding a 4-1 thrashing over Europe chasers West Ham.

Whether he stays or goes, Swansea and Guidolin can both afford to look back on the end of the season with fondness.
