Down: Wayne Hennessey

Wayne Hennessey is a good goalkeeper. He has kept numerous clean sheets for both Crystal Palace and Wales this season, with his contribution allowing both to develop into really successful teams. But he really hasn’t had a good week.

First, he condemned Palace to defeat at lowly Aston Villa after inexplicably allowing Joleon Lescott’s tame header to squirm under his body. Then, this weekend, he let Fabian Delph’s long distance daisy cutter fly through his hands to put Manchester City ahead. Up until this point, Palace had been dominating the game, but Hennessey’s mistake allowed the floodgates to open, and City ran out 4-0 winners. Without Hennessey’s mistake, they might have been alright.

As for the other end, Palace really need to get Yannick Bolasie back. They have now gone five games without a goal, and with Hennessey making mistakes like this, their slide does not look like abating.
