Swansea City look like shoe-ins for relegation this season and a very large factor in their poor form is the lack of quality in their squad, particularly in defence.

Soft-centred is the best way to describe their porous backline, which has leaked 18 goals in their last six away games.

What was particularly galling for Swans fans was that the league’s worst attack Middlesbrough, managed to score three against them, largely because of Amat’s lazy challenge on Adam Forshaw, which gave Alvaro Negredo the chance to put Boro out of sight. It was a poor, poor performance.
