Oh dear. When Manchester City spent the better part of £50 million on John Stones, they were doing it safe in the knowledge that they were buying one of the most promising but error prone defenders in the Premier League.

Stones’ awful backpass, which gifted Jamie Vardy the chance to complete his hat-trick was terrible, and worst a of all, it was not even the first time this season an errant pass backwards had resulted in the opposition scoring.

He could be great, in time, but he needs to stop making silly mistakes.
