Jamie Vardy’s impressive double for Leicester at the Stadium of Light has moved the Foxes agonisingly close to a surprising title triumph after a 2-0 win at Sunderland kept them seven points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Second placed Tottenham kept up the gap after a fine 3-0 win over Manchester United, who look increasingly unlikely to make the top 4, but now only have five games to overhaul the relentless league leaders.

West Ham and Arsenal played out a magnificent 3-3 draw at the Boelyn Ground, with Andy Carroll grabbing the headlines thanks to an impressive hat-trick that has opened a debate over whether he should be involved in England’s European Championship squad that heads to France in 2 months time.

As for the bottom of the table, Aston Villa’s relegation is all but confirmed after another defeat, whereas Newcastle and Sunderland slipped further into trouble with disappointing losses. Crystal Palace, though, look to have dragged themselves clear after finally recording a win in 2016. But will any of their players make it into this week’s 3 up 3 down?
