After their incredible win over Dortmund and a thrashing over Everton, everything seemed to be going the right way for Liverpool. That was, until, it was revealed that Mamadou Sakho had failed a drugs test for a fat burning substance.

It remains to be seen how Sakho and Liverpool will be affected by this revelation, but Sakho had been in excellent form, and his absence is likely to be part of the reason for Liverpool throwing away a 2-0 lead at home to Newcastle.

It appears as if Sakho’s season is done, and his ban could stretch as far as two years. Whether he intended to cheat or not, he has been incredibly stupid and really let his club down.
