When you are unexpectedly pushing for a Champions League place, you need a few pieces of luck to fall your way to get you over the line, unfortunately for West Ham, a mistake from their goalkeeper cost them in a disappointing draw at home to Crystal Palace.

With a free kick drifting harmlessly out of play, goalkeeper Adrian inexplicably stuck out a hand and palmed the ball into the path of the grateful Damien Delaney. It was probably just a natural reflex reaction after seeing a ball so close to him, but it was completely needless and put the Hammers on the back foot.

Challenging teams as experienced as Manchester City and United, West Ham could do without their goalkeeper gifting goals to their opponents.
