But by Christmas, the Baggies are comfortably in the top half and one of their new signings is making real waves as one of the league’s most in-form wingers.

Phillips’ excellent goal against Watford was his third since the start of November, in a period where he has provided the same number of assists, leaving West Brom on the brink of the European places.
