Down: Geoff Cameron
It seems there is a theme emerging at the Hawthorns this winter; idiotic red cards. In the week before Christmas, it was James McLean costing the home team with an act of pure brutality, this time out, Geoff Cameron single-handedly undid an excellent Stoke City comeback with a stupid slap on Claudio Yacob.
Stoke, after falling behind in the second half to Stephane Sessegnon, managed to claw their way back into the game via a Jon Walters header in the 81st minute. After two consecutive wins, the Potters were favourites to take the win, until Cameron’s moment of madness.
Without their versatile midfielder, Stoke allowed Jonny Evans enough freedom to score his first Baggies goal and win the game for West Brom. Cameron, on the other hand, would have been thankful for the short trip home to avoid the stares aimed his way on the team bus.
