Down: Arsenal’s attack
Arsenal are many experts’ pick for the Premier League title, but it is starting to appear like they are heading for their annual February crash.
The Gunners are now win-less in four, and have failed to find the back of the net in three of those. Not since Olivier Giroud’s sharp finish at the Anfield Road end three weeks ago have Arsenal found the net, and it has resulted in a drop from league leaders to their habitual position of fourth.
Mesut Özil appears to have stopped firing the assists, Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott’s finishing is just slightly off, and Alexis Sanchez is only just coming back from injury. There are a number of factors as to why Arsenal have been a bit blunt in recent weeks, all of which are understandable, but they must start scoring again if they are to take a first league title since 2004.
