When you’re down at the bottom of the table, you really need all of your best players on the pitch, fighting their hardest to pull off a great escape. Sadly for Aston Villa, Jordan Ayew; who could legitimately be labelled as their only bright spark in a miserable season, ruined any chance of getting a result at West Ham thanks to an idiotic elbow on Aaron Cresswell.

Villa had been playing pretty well at the Boelyn Ground until Ayew’s 17th minute blunder, but forced to play out the rest of the 90 minutes against superior opposition, they never really had a hope. Ayew let Villa down, and is now suspended for their next game. A really stupid move.
