Oh dear, Villa. What an awful day.

The Villains entered Sunday’s match against Liverpool after a half-revival which had seen them win two of their last five games, and optimism was high of more points against the struggling Reds.

However, Villa were abysmal from start to finish, making mistakes all over the park and allowing a side who have looked distinctly average for the last couple of months bully them into a total thrashing. They were weak up front, lightweight in midfield and loose in defence. Even Kolo Toure scored against them.

At the rate Villa are heading, they’ll be lucky to survive relegation next season. To League One.

A truly embarrassing day.
