3 players who deserve Everton chance after international break

Everton raced out of the blocks during 2020/21 but have been beaten in their last three Premier League games.

The Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti oversaw four straight wins at the start of the campaign but are now winless from their net four.

With that in mind, the Italian boss might have the mindset to mix things up a bit with his squad once the domestic action returns.

Given the players signed in the summer transfer window, European football has to be the aim for the Toffees this season.

Here at TBR, we looked at three players who deserve a chance to impose themselves on the Everton team after the break.

Robin Olsen

The deliberating over Jordan Pickford’s future in the first-team at Everton is getting tiresome and Ancelotti has a big decision to make.

Olsen did well in his only league appearance against Newcastle United and a run of games in the team could actually do both goalkeepers good.

The 30-year-old looked solid and a lot more composed than Pickford who has been erratic for weeks, if not months, now.

Bernard

The Brazilian winger was the subject of interest from Roma during the summer transfer window, with the player valued at £20 million.

Bernard was handed the chance to make his first start of the season against Manchester United and repaid his manager’s faith with a goal.

The 28-year-old has plenty of flair and could become an important player for the Toffees if handed a proper chance.

Mason Holgate

The centre-back returned from injury in the game against United and despite the loss is worth persisting with.

Yerry Mina was on the bench at the expense of the English defender and Holgate should be handed a run of games.

The Colombian looked badly out of sorts during the defeat to Southampton and he’d perhaps be better off sitting out a few games.
