You could never accuse Liverpool of being quiet in January.
With the arrival of players such as Luis Suarez, Andy Carroll, Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho to name but a few, as well as a certain number nine heading quite unceremoniously through the exit door, the past five years or so have seen significant January outlays for the Redmen.
While one could be cynical and say that this is compensation for a glaring list of rubbish summer transfer windows (Daniel Sturridge was signed pretty much the minute the window opened if memory serves me correctly), it is certainly exciting for the fans to see such improvements to the squad.
Currently, Liverpool are in heavy negotiations with Shakhtar Donetsk concerning the transfer of Alex Teixiera, with the move possibly reaching upwards of £37 million, according to Tony Barrett – correspondent for The Times.
Liverpool have made a €32m offer for Alex Teixeira but Shakhtar Donetsk are seeking closer to €50m for the attacker.

Having (possibly), learnt the lessons from when the Torres/Suarez cash was burning a big hole in their pockets, Liverpool appear to be acquiring not only a player who can fit the Premier League, but also someone capable of buying into their style of football.
Here are three reasons why Teixiera is a perfect addition to Jurgen Klopp’s team.
