Josip Vukovic has admitted that he will cost £3.4million if he is to leave Portuguese side Maritimo in the summer, and that would be a bargain if Steven Gerrard decides to lure him to Ibrox.
Portuguese news outlet A Bola have claimed that the 26-year-old is a target for Rangers ahead of the summer window, after an excellent start to life in Portuguese football.
A tough-tackling holding midfielder, Vukovic is renowned for his intricate array of passing. He only joined the club last summer from Ukranian outlet Olimpik Donestk.
He has since attracted the interest of Rangers while other English Premier League sides are said to be interested in the Croatia youth international. Now, he has told clubs how much he will cost.
Vukovic has told Vitez that he has a release clause worth €4million (£3.4million) and if he is to leave Maritimo, interested parties will have to table an offer worth that figure.
Rangers have plenty of central midfield talent, including the likes of Ryan Jack, Ross McCrorie, Glen Kamara and more. But at £3.4million, Vukovic is an absolute bargain.
Gerrard’s side have utilised the Croatian market and it has proved somewhat a success. Borna Barisic has been excellent at left-back, while Nikola Katic is certainly looking likely to be one for the future.
Vukovic would be an enormous improvement on the Gers’ midfield, and at £3.4million he is a bargain worth paying for.
