Giovani Lo Celso is now ready to bid farewell to his Tottenham teammates – with a move to Galatasaray believed to be close to completion.

That is according to Aksam in Turkey.

So, what is the latest on Giovani Lo Celso at Tottenham? Let’s take a look…

Galatasaray set to sign Lo Celso

Well – according to another Turkish news outlet in Yeni Asir – the Argentina international wants to leave Tottenham due to a lack of playing time under Ange Postecoglou.

Now – with Turkey’s transfer window remaining open until Friday 9th February – Galatasaray are closing in on the signing of Lo Celso, as detailed by Aksam.

The Turkish news outlet even claim that Galatasaray have the No.10 shirt ready for the South American.

Aksam state that a deal is pretty much done as Lo Celso prepares to wave goodbye to his Tottenham teammates, with Postecoglou unwilling to give the Spurs No.18 the squad role he is looking for.

The Argentine has made 96 appearances for Tottenham since arriving in a £27.2m deal from Real Betis back in January 2020.

Tottenham can afford to lose Lo Celso

Some may be disappointed by this rumour, as it seemed Lo Celso was on track for a resurgence under Postecoglou earlier this season after scoring in the 3-3 draw against Manchester City.

The 27-year-old is obviously a talented footballer, although Spurs can afford to lose him nowadays.

Postecoglou does not really need much squad depth this season with Tottenham out of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup – while also having no European football on the schedule.

That lessens the need for Lo Celso to stay, as does the signing of another midfielder in Lucas Bergvall – who arrived in an £8.5m deal from Djurgarden on transfer deadline day.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as the Argentine seems set to leave N17 for Galatasaray by Friday.
