One Arsenal player in particular looked rather sharp in training ahead of the opening Champions League clash with Atalanta.
Mikel Arteta revealed the devastating news that Martin Odegaard’s injury is significant ahead of the Atalanta clash, which isn’t great for Arsenal fans.
The Gunners managed to make-do with Kai Havertz in the Norwegian’s position against Tottenham last time out, but it remains to be seen as to who will be the long-term replacement.
Ethan Nwaneri received some minutes in the Premier League against Spurs, so he could be an option moving forward. However, Arteta may be cautious about giving him too many minutes too quickly.
Another option is to play Declan Rice slightly higher up or even Mikel Merino, who is nearing a return from injury.
However, it was a different player who caught the eye in training ahead of Atalanta…

Leandro Trossard pulls off outrageous Mesut Ozil skill in training
Leandro Trossard has been an unsung hero for the Gunners this season, often being brought on to change games in favor of Mikel Arteta’s side.
Matthew Upson labelled Trossard as ‘different class’ after just 20 minutes in the North London derby.
And, it appears as if he’s high in confidence as he took a leaf out of Mesut Ozil‘s book in training.
Just after the 12-minute mark, Leandro Trossard pulled off a Mesut Ozil bounce pass during a rondo session, which perfectly dissected the defender.
The German was known for pulling off all kinds of audacious skills and passes in matches, with his bounce goal against Liverpool evidence of that.
Mikel Arteta has to start him again vs Atalanta
The wonderful thing about having a player like Leandro Trossard is that he can be deployed pretty much anywhere across the front three, and even in the 10 position.
With Martin Odegaard injured, it could make sense to drop him into the attacking midfield role to try and create problems centrally.
Kai Havertz has looked at his best at the pinnacle of the attack, while Raheem Sterling could be turned to on the left-hand side in an attempt to give him some more minutes.
Bukayo Saka had cramp towards the end of the North London derby, so he could be rested which could give Gabriel Martinelli the opportunity to play out on the right-hand side.
