£26m Tottenham player has had treatment on knee injury, he’s feeling better already

Tottenham Hotspur haven’t exactly had the best of luck when it comes to injuries this season.

Ange Postecoglou was without a host of key players between November and January, with the likes of James Maddison and Micky van de Ven picking up injuries.

The Aussie boss has had the luxury of fielding his strongest starting XI in recent weeks, despite Van de Ven missing out on Tottenham’s trip to Fulham.

But according to The Sun’s Tom Barclay, Emerson Royal has also been struggling with a knee injury, which has prompted the defender to undergo treatment during the international break.

Emerson has treatment on knee injury

Barclay took to X on Wednesday afternoon and shared an update on Emerson’s fitness.

He wrote: “Understand Emerson Royal had been having some pain in his knee (the same one he injured a year ago) of late but underwent treatment back in Brazil on Monday and now is already feeling better, so should be available for Spurs post-international break.”

While Emerson has largely been used as a squad player under Postecoglou this season, he’s proven to be an important part of the Spurs side.

The £26 million man has filled in across the backline and recently covered for Pedro Porro in the Spaniard’s absence against Crystal Palace and Wolves.

Tottenham’s current injury list

Postecoglou has already confirmed that Spurs are hopeful Van de Ven will be back in contention after the international break.

Tottenham remain without the likes of Ryan Sessegnon and Manor Solomon, with the duo both expected to be out for the remainder of the season.

Spurs announced today that summer signing Solomon has undergone surgery on his meniscus in his right knee.

As for Sessegnon, he suffered yet another setback last month and is facing around 12 weeks on the sidelines.

Back-up goalkeeper Fraser Forster is also currently ruled out with a foot injury and is expected to be out until April.
