26-year-old Tottenham player is so much happier with Ange Postecoglou than Antonio Conte

Ange Postecoglou has certainly overseen a lot of change at Tottenham Hotspur since his arrival at the club last summer.

Postecoglou was served the ‘poisoned chalice’ so to speak, becoming the manager to oversee the post Harry Kane era.

However, the Australian didn’t moan, he didn’t look downbeat and sorry for himself considering the task at hand.

Instead, Postecoglou galvanised his existing squad, and reminded each individual of their quality.

Perhaps Son Heung-min and Richarlison have seen the biggest change under Postecoglou at Tottenham, in front of goal at least.

The duo were in Kane’s shadow last year, both having disappointing seasons in front of goal respectively.

But with Son recently away at the Asian Cup, Richarlison has stood incredibly big, capping off his recent form with a double at Everton.

And The Athletic have now shared a report explaining how differently Richarlison feels this season in comparison to Antonio Conte’s tenure.

Ange Postecoglou deserves credit for Richarlison’s change in fortune at Tottenham

First of all, the report explained just how much Postecoglou’s superb man-management skills have helped Richarlison.

Not because the two are often having long chats, rather Richarlison now has a manager with deep emotional intelligence.

The Brazilian clearly went through a lot in the early part of this season, and has returned with his manager’s full support.

The report also attributes Richarlison’s improved goalscoring to the faith of his new manager.

Richarlison managed just one Premier League goal last campaign in 27 appearances, a stark contrast to his 10 he’s already scored this season.

Under Postecoglou, the forward knows that his position in the Tottenham team is secure, a big change from the Conte days.

Richarlison was previously snatching at his chances, trying to make use of his fleeting opportunities.

However, his new manager now doesn’t put the same emphasis on scoring, he also deeply appreciates his pressing and improved hold-up play.

All in all, it’s been a season of real progress for Richarlison, who is no longer a figure of frustration around Hotspur Way.

That being said, one former England international has now admitted his move to Spurs was the biggest mistake of his career
