Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is having a strange season but it seems his place with England is not under threat at all.

Ramsdale has lost his place in the Arsenal team to David Raya. Despite claims from Mikel Arteta claiming different, it’s clear that Raya is now the number one.

That has led to speculation over Ramsdale’s future with the likes of Newcastle and Chelsea being linked with a move for the Gunners ace.

However, it seems where Ramsdale is and isn’t won’t matter one jot to Gareth Southgate.

According to TeamTalk, Ramsdale has actually been told by those in the England camp that he will be at Euro 2024 regardless of his situation at club level.

Ramsdale to get England spot despite not playing for Arsenal

According to TeamTalk, there is a sense within the England squad that they can go all the way and win the Euros.

That, in part, is down to the team ethic Southgate has instilled in the group and the familiarity they have with themselves.

Ramsdale is part of that group and it seems that the England camp have made it clear to the Arsenal man he’ll be involved.

Quite where Ramsdale will be come the summer remains to be seen. He is likely to still be an Arsenal player but a loan move in January cannot be ruled out either.

Further, Ramsdale might also want to be playing regularly ahead of the Euros to guarantee that spot and also be ready in case Jordan Pickford picks up any sort of injury.

For the Arsenal stopper, this news from the England set-up will take the pressure off a touch and give him a boost.

Ramsdale is expected to play today when Arsenal take on Brentford due to Raya being ineligible.

All eyes, then, will be on the £24m Arsenal man as he looks to show he can very much do the business for Arteta.
