23-year-old Tottenham player’s career could be done if reports are true about Tanguy Ndombele

Tottenham Hotspur are going in the right direction under Ange Postecoglou and remain firmly in the top four hunt this season.

The Aussie has turned things around at the club and has really put his stamp on things. That has included allowing certain players to leave while bringing in hand-picked signings to suit his philosophy.

So far, it’s worked out brilliantly. Which is why it was a huge surprise to see reports this week that the club are considering bringing Tanguy Ndombele back from his loan spell.

The £54m French midfielder has never ever done the business at Spurs under different managers. But it’s claimed Postecoglou could look to integrate him into the squad.

And if that’s the case and Ndombele does return, then young midfielder Oliver Skipp might feel like his career at Spurs is finished.

Ndombele news should make Oliver Skipp leave Tottenham

Skipp, 23, has been on the periphery of things in the main under Postecoglou. Despite not being a regular starter though, he is still considered a player who Spurs fans feel can do a good job.

However, if Ndombele is to come back into the fold then Skipp should seriously consider his Tottenham future.

Unlike Ndombele, Skipp is a player who has always given his best to the Spurs cause. To see Ndombele come back into the midfield would be a bit of a kick in the stomach and would highlight that Postecoglou perhaps doesn’t fully trust the Englishman.

Sure, Skipp and Ndombele are two different players but the reality is both are pushing to start in the centre of midfield and it would be a real blow for Skipp to see the Frenchman suddenly come back into the fold.

With teams like Crystal Palace said to be keen on signing Skipp, he might well see Ndombele coming back as the final straw and push for that sort of move.

Certainly, it would be a due reason to call it a day at Spurs and move on.

Quite whether Postecoglou will follow through on these reports, remains to be seen. But Oliver Skipp will be one of the Spurs players most interested in the scenario.
