23-year-old now starts following Tottenham on Instagram, amid claims Paratici’s trying to sign him

Cristian Romero started following Tottenham Hotspur on Instagram last night in the clearest indication yet that all was running smoothly with his transfer.

Done deal

Tottenham have apparently agreed a fee with Atalanta with the central defender and personal terms, as Fabio Paratici works on his third signing (Sky Sports).

All that remains to be done in the deal now is for Tottenham to officially announce it.

There were rumours that Spurs could even have made the transfer official yesterday, but no announcement came.

It appears that there is little to worry about though, as Romero has now hinted on social media that the move is about to go through.

In the modern day age, a footballer following a club on Instagram is almost as clear an indication that they are about to sign for him as there can be.

Romero should make a brilliant addition to Tottenham, and he looks their most exciting signing of the summer so far.

Romero won Serie A’s Defender of the Year last season, and is expected to step straight into Tottenham’s back-line when he does arrive.
