£22m Tottenham player accused of being a Man City fan after his performance against them

Tottenham lost 2-0 to Manchester City on Tuesday evening, but this game so easily could’ve gone the other way.

Indeed, late in the game Heung-Min Son, uncharacteristically, missed a one on one against Stefan Ortega, and to say that there were a few shocked reactions would be an understatement.

TalkSPORT hosted a live watchalong for this game on their YouTube channel, and when Son missed, Jason Cundy’s reaction was remarkable, going as far as to joke that Son must’ve been a City fan.

Heung-Min Son accused of being a Manchester City fan

Cundy was stunned by Son’s miss late in the game.

“Oh my word, oh my word that is unbelievable. What a save Ortega. Son, we’ve just realised he’s a City fan, he is a City fan,” Cundy said.

Tottenham fans might be grateful

Son’s miss, under normal circumstances, would live in Spurs fans’ minds for weeks to come, but, strangely, Tottenham supporters might actually be grateful for this miss in some way.

As many will know, the stakes attached to this game were strange. If Tottenham had got a result, Arsenal would immediately have become favourites to win the Premier League title, and, as their bitter rivals, some Spurs fans actually wanted to lose this game.

Son’s miss, strangely, may have been celebrated in the white half of north London, while the red half would’ve been gutted about the fact the Spurs star couldn’t convert.

Cundy stated that Son may have wanted City to win this one, and while that comment was clearly tongue-in-cheek, there might’ve been something in the back of Son’s head just giving him a slight level of doubt. After all, the stadium was incredibly subdued on the day.

Spurs fans might actually be happy about the fact the £22m man missed this golden chance.
