22-year-old Arsenal player was absent from outdoor training for national team today

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka was one of four England players who was absent from outdoor training today.

Gareth Southgate is preparing his Three Lions squad for a friendly against Brazil on Saturday evening.

Bukayo Saka will be hoping to nail down his place in Southgate’s XI ahead of the Euros by impressing against Brazil and Belgium over the next week.

The 22-year-old has been in fine form for Mikel Arteta’s side and has missed just three games all season.

With a huge clash against Manchester City to come after the international break, Arsenal will be hoping their key players come through the next 10 days without any injury setbacks. But it would appear that Saka missed training for England on Wednesday. 

Saka absent from outdoor training at England

The Times’ Henry Winter took to X and claimed that Saka trained indoors at St George’s Park on Wednesday.

Saka, Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Cole Palmer have all been placed on ‘individualised programmes indoors’.

It remains unclear exactly why Saka, Henderson and Palmer have all missed outdoor training for England today. As for Kane, he picked up an ankle injury in Bayern Munich’s 5-2 win over Darmstadt last weekend.

Arsenal fans will certainly be hoping for good news on Saka ahead of their trip to the Etihad Stadium on March 31.

The Englishman has been key to Arsenal’s success so far this season and continues to provide in the final third.

How many goals has Saka scored for Arsenal this season?

Saka has netted 16 goals in 37 appearances for Arsenal this term, while he’s also provided 15 assists.

Such is his importance to Arteta’s side, he also leads the way in the Premier League when it comes to expected assists and touches in the opposition box.

There has been no indication that Saka has picked up a knock and Arsenal fans will be hopeful that is the case.

It may well be that the Hale End Academy product is training indoors due to the number of minutes he’s racked up for Arsenal in recent weeks.
