Oliver Glasner will have spotted glaring issues in his Crystal Palace side after the 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest.
The Eagles enjoyed a stellar start to the new campaign, breaking a 44-year record to win the Community Shield against Liverpool, followed by a hard-fought draw against Chelsea in the Premier League curtain raiser.
However, Crystal Palace threw away a one-goal lead at Selhurst Park courtesy of Ismaila Sarr when Callum Hudson-Odoi equalised for the visitors.
Performances are one thing, but results are everything in football, and despite performing well thus far this year, Glasner is now looking at four points dropped already.

And now, after the Eagles sanctioned Eberechi Eze’s sale to Arsenal, the attacking options are wearing thin in South London, and one player, who started in place of the departed Englishman, hardly covered himself in glory against Nottingham Forest.
Justin Devenny drops a howler for Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace have dominated the headlines as of late, from the Eagles’ long-winded European dispute to the battle in North London for Eze, it seems the club is one of the most talked about in England.
Justin Devenny was the man of the moment at Wembley as he stepped to convert the match-winning penalty against Liverpool.
Although the 21-year-old is hardly expected to immediately fill the void left by Eze, he was handed his first opportunity to impress at Selhurst Park.
| Justin Devenny vs Nottingham Forest | Total |
| Touches | 32 |
| Pass Accuracy | 70% |
| Dribbles Success rate | 0/1 |
| Duel Completion rate | 27% |
| Possession lost (times) | 11 |
He was replaced in the 66th minute at Selhurst Park after a dismal display on the left flank in which he lost possession of the ball 11 times and came out on the wrong end of duels more often than not.
Indeed, Devenny has shown plenty of promise in South London, but the alarming drop-off in quality, following the departure of Eze, is something Glasner cannot afford to overlook.
There are eight days until the summer transfer window slams shut, and with a £67.5 million cash injection now to play with, there are no excuses should Crystal Palace fail to bolster the squad before the deadline.
Crystal Palace cannot afford to lose Marc Guehi
TBR Football understands Steve Parish is trying to sell Marc Guehi to Liverpool in order to avoid losing the defender on a free transfer in 2026.
From a business perspective, this is a smart move from Parish, but after losing Eze, there is not enough time to find replacements for two star players in the transfer window.
The Eagles have lost a lot of star quality over the years, including Wilfried Zaha and Michael Olise, but the side has managed to remain competitive in the Premier League.
But with Europa Conference League football to contend with this year, the stakes are drastically higher, and if Devenny’s performance is anything to go by, Guehi should not follow Eze out the door unless a strong contingency plan is in place.
